A learning space for institutions, bootcamps and training programs

Your speakers teach once. Everyone leaves with the learning.

Scrolls brings your program’s sessions, resources and learning materials together, then turns what happens in the room into notes, tasks, practice and a place where participants can keep asking questions. The speaker focuses on teaching. Participants focus on learning.

A speaker teaches a concept once. Forty people write it down forty different ways.

Some miss an important detail. Some forget the assignment. Some lose the slides. And when they want to revisit something, they don’t always know where to look.

The learning is there. It’s just scattered.

Scrolls brings it together.

One program. One shared learning space. Every session, resource and important detail in one place.

What participants get

Everything from the program, in one place.

Participants shouldn’t have to search through chat groups, folders, emails and old notebooks to find what they learned. With Scrolls, the institution can bring together the material for a program and make it available to its participants.

Timetable and sessions

Know what’s coming up, what has already happened and what comes next. Each scheduled session links to its recording and materials.

Resources and attachments

Slides and handouts as PDFs, photos of the whiteboard and audio clips shared by the organizer sit alongside the session they belong to.

Study notes

A structured account of what the session covered, its key concepts, examples and important takeaways.

Tasks and Practice

Assignments, deadlines and things to practise, extracted from the session and available for participants to work through.

Definitions

Understand difficult terms and concepts without having to search somewhere else.

Ask Scrolls

Ask questions about the learning material and get answers grounded in the sessions and resources made available to you.

Transcript

Return to what was actually said and find the part of a session you want to revisit.

One session. More ways to learn.

Not another wall of text.

Each session is turned into material you can revisit, act on and come back to.

Every session, turned into notes you can revisit.

How a program runs

Five steps. One connected learning experience.

Try it on your Mac

Your institution gets its workspace. Organizers create cohorts, add participants and bring the program’s sessions together.

Add each session to the program’s timetable, with its date and time. Attach the slides, handouts and other files to the session they belong to, so participants find them in the right context.

The speaker or coordinator starts recording through the Scrolls Mac app. Scrolls captures the session through the Mac’s microphone. No meeting bot joins the call. If a session was recorded elsewhere, an existing recording can also be uploaded.

Scrolls prepares the transcript, study notes, Tasks, Practice and other learning material. The organizer can review the session and decide when it is ready to share with the cohort.

Participants open the sessions and resources made available to them. They revisit notes, ask questions, work through Tasks and Practice, and keep track of their own progress.

The record of the program

Every session has a place. Every resource has context.

A program is more than a collection of recordings. It has a timetable, speakers, sessions, attachments, assignments and ideas that build on each other. Scrolls gives those pieces a shared home.

Who it’s for

One program pays. Everyone in it benefits.

For institutions

A program that doesn’t lose its learning.

Your organizers already plan sessions, coordinate speakers, distribute materials and manage participants. Scrolls brings those activities into one connected learning experience.

  • Organize cohorts, courses and a session timetable
  • Share resources and attachments with participants
  • Record sessions and create structured learning material
  • Review and control what gets shared
  • Give participants a consistent place to revisit the program
  • See how many Tasks and Practice each participant has done
One institutional arrangement. Participants pay nothing.

Studying on your own? Courses are joined through an institution, with a code from your program. You can’t sign up for one by yourself. Questions? Ask us
Ask more. Understand better.

Your learning material is a place to start a conversation.

Not every question comes up during the session. Sometimes you understand the topic only after reading the notes. Sometimes you need another explanation. Sometimes you just want to find what the speaker said.

Ask Scrolls about the sessions and resources made available to you.

Answers come from your program’s own sessions, and point back to the session they came from.

Participants ask at no cost to them, within fair-use limits.

Privacy and trust

Your institution stays in control of its learning environment.

Scrolls is designed for programs where the institution needs to decide what is recorded, what gets shared and who gets access.

No bot joins

Recording is started through the recorder’s Mac app and uses its microphone. Nothing joins your session or your call.

Audio is shared only while you share

The audio is kept on the recording Mac. When a session is shared with a cohort, a copy goes to private cloud storage so participants can play it, and it is removed when the sharing ends.

No AI training on your sessions

Scrolls does not use your session content to train its own AI models.

Access is managed

Participants join with a code from the program. Their access ends on the cohort’s end date.

The institution

Organizes the program and controls sharing.

Organizers manage the timetable, sessions, participants, resources and what is shared with each cohort. For institutional programs, the institution determines the learning purpose.

Scrolls

Provides the technology to deliver it.

Scrolls processes and delivers that material under the agreed arrangement. Read the Privacy Policy.

FAQ

Questions institutions ask

What does Scrolls do?

Scrolls brings a program’s timetable, sessions, resources and learning material together. It can record sessions, create transcripts and structured study material, and give participants a place to revisit sessions, ask questions and track their work.

Who manages the program?

The institution or organizing body. Its authorized organizers manage cohorts, the timetable, participants, sessions, resources and what is shared with participants.

Can organizers attach resources to a session?

Yes. PDFs (such as slides and handouts), images and audio clips can be attached to a session, and participants open them alongside it once it is shared.

Does Scrolls record sessions automatically?

No. An authorized person starts the recording using the Scrolls Mac app. The app records through the Mac’s microphone. No bot joins the meeting.

Where are recordings stored?

Session audio is kept on the Mac that recorded it. While a session is shared with a live cohort, a compressed copy of its audio and attachments is kept in private cloud storage so participants can play it on their own Mac. That copy is removed when the session is unshared, the cohort ends or the session is deleted. Transcripts, study notes, Tasks and Practice are stored in your account.

Do participants need a Mac?

Yes, for now. Participants open shared sessions in the free Scrolls app for Mac. A browser or phone version is not available yet.

Can participants ask questions?

Yes. Participants can ask about the sessions shared with them, and answers point back to the session they came from. Fair-use limits apply.

Who pays?

The institution or organizing body pays for the program. Participants do not pay to access the learning space provided by their institution.

Who decides what participants can see?

The institution’s authorized organizers decide which sessions, resources and attachments are shared with the cohort. Participants can access the material made available to them.

Can participants track their own work?

Yes. Participants can tick off their own Tasks and Practice activities. Their personal progress does not change another participant’s progress.

Which languages are supported?

English and Hindi, including sessions where speakers move between the two. Hindi is written in Devanagari. Other languages aren’t supported yet.

Can we use Scrolls for online sessions?

The recording Mac’s microphone must be able to hear the session, for example when audio plays through the Mac’s speakers. Scrolls does not join the meeting as a bot.

What happens when a cohort ends?

Every cohort has an end date, at most two years after it starts. After that date participants can no longer open what was shared. Nothing is deleted: sessions stay with whoever recorded them. Notes can be exported as PDF or Markdown before the cohort ends.

How do we get started?

Tell us about your institution and the kind of program you run. We can help you work out how to set up your first cohort.

Your next program deserves more than a folder of recordings.

Bring your timetable, sessions, resources and learning material together. Give every participant a place to return to what they learned.
